Master 

Full Time - 43.5 hours

Salary Paid weekly - £34,000 - £40,000 plus bonuses 

 

Start date : Immediate

We have an exciting new opening for an individual to join our team aboard our team both on the Medway and Thames.

We are looking for a full time captain to operate our ferry at Gravesend. We are seeking an enthusatic smart and customer focued individual to act asist our team with the operation of our vessels, ferry services  and maintainence of the fleet.  

 

Applicants must hold:

  • UK MCA Boat masters Licence Tier 1 Level 2 Boatmaster licence with passenger endorsement.
  • Clean driving licence or have the ability to arrive at work at 0500.
  • A valid Medical ML5 or ENG1
  • The Applicant must be mindful of safety and have an understanding of safety management systems.

Desirable

  • A working knowledge of Jet drives 
  • a Medway PEC or Local Knowledge Endorsement.

The position comprises of:

  • A fixed 2 day on 2 day off rota pattern covering. (normally working 4 days in week one, 2 days in week two) based at Gravesend Town Pier
  • Paid Breaks, 
  • Paid Holiday,
  • Pension plan. 
  • Addition hours available subject to Working Time Directive (MSN 1778)
  • may also be required to undertake excursions on our Estuary services and will have the opportunity to undertake a PEC or LKE for the River Medway. 
Salary
 £34,000-£40,000 per annum based on basic salary.
Additional work paid at hourly rate or for certain type of work fixed one off payments.

 

 

 

Mate 

Fixed term 6 month - minimum 20 hours guarenteed

Salary based upon -  £9.50-£12 per hour

We have an exciting new opening for an individual to join our team aboard our team both on the Medway and Thames.

We are looking for a crew members to assist with operations of our fleet of vessels. the applicant must be customer focued and be able bodied to carry out  individual to act asist our team with the operation of our vessels, ferry services  and maintainence of the fleet. Full duties include but not limited to:

  • Assist in maintaining the vessels documents as prescribed in this Manual and in accordance with the comopany safety management.
  • Operate Bar and/or ticket sales.
  • Assist inspections of his vessel by MCA/MECAL or other authorised person.
  • To ensure passenger welfare by monitoring and maintaining:
    • passenger access and egress
    • Passenger cabin spaces.
    • Cleanliness
    • Vessel Security
    • Revenue protection
  • Assist in briefing new crew and assisting in safety matters.
  • Ensure any health and safety priorities and that best practice is followed in the execution of their duties.
  • Ensure they are familiar with and are trained in emergency procedures and the results are recorded.
  • All revenue is accounted for and deposited as per daily instructions.
  • If, a key holder, to ensure vessels and piers are locked accordingly. 

 

Applicants must hold:

  • Clean driving licence or have the ability to arrive at work at 0500.
  • A valid Medical ML5 or ENG1
  • A valid First Aid certificate, Fire fighting and Sea Survival certificate,

Desirable: - RYA Power boat level 2
