Choosing the right course. 

Are you looking to get afloat for fun or fancy making a job move? The first step is to decide if boating is for you. The RYA powerboat level 1 is the best course for getting you into a boat and learning how to be safe. Sure, its a small boat, perhaps one that you can tow behind a car but everyone has to start somewhere. IF you'd like to book PB1 please email training@jetstreamtours.com

Once you have had the opportunity to play with boats and experienced life on the water it is time to make take the next step. RYA Powerboat Level 2. 

Our Courses

Our Powerboat courses are conducted at our waterbased centre at Chatham Marina aboard one of our coded Ribs.

Our prefered vessel for all our powerboat courses is Dodger, a 6 metre ridged inflatable boat (or RIB). She is coded for 6 persons and holds all of the latest safety equipment including:

• 6 man Liferaft
• 8 Lifejackets
• Flares
• First Aid kit
• 2 Lifebuoys with lights
• 2 x VHF's

The vessel is designed to be able to take pasengers up to 20 miles from shore however all the courses will remain in the River Medway and will remain in sheltered waters. Click here for more information on our vessel Dodger.

All powerboat courses will be subject to weather conditions, however only in extreme cases will they be cancelled. If nessesary, your tutor may vary the course to avoid the bad weather, but will not take you out if he feels that it may endanger life.

Lifejackets will be supplied to all participants.

Where are we located?

Our Waterbased Courses are operated from our waterbased centre. If you are doing a waterbased course your course will mainly be spent at the Marina however some or part of the course may be conducted at the shorebased centre. At the Marina, there is ample parking, Toilet, Changing and Shower facilities.
